Some frequently asked questions
How do I know if psychotherapy is right for me?
Psychotherapy can be helpful in situations of emotional distress, relationship difficulties, anxiety, mood changes, or when there is a need to better understand patterns of thought and behaviour. It is not necessary to be “really unwell” to seek psychological support.
What is your approach?
Our approach is integrative and evidence-based, combining Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with third-wave therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).
How does the first session work? Am I required to continue afterwards?
The first session allows us to understand the reason for seeking support, explore your current emotional state, and clarify expectations. It also provides space to address any questions and to assess whether this approach feels right for you. There is no obligation to continue. If you choose to proceed, a second session is scheduled, during which your personal history and main patterns of functioning are explored in greater depth, helping to guide an individualised intervention plan.
How long does a therapeutic process last?
The duration of therapy varies from person to person. Some processes are more focused and time-limited, while others require longer-term support, always tailored to individual needs.
Can I use my health insurance to reimburse me for consultations?
Sessions are provided privately, with no direct agreements with insurance companies. However, you may wish to check with your insurer whether reimbursement is possible.
Do you have immediate availability, or is there a waiting list?
We do not work with a waiting list. Given the nature of psychological support, we believe that mental health should not be put on hold. When we are unable to begin therapy immediately, we aim to refer clients to other trusted professionals, ensuring they can access support as soon as possible.
